Last Sunday

We went to "The Flower Fields" in Carlsbad and saw some of the most beautiful flower's. They had a special display of Orchids and we saw some species we had never seen before, and, of course we both took lots of pictures. They had an antique trailer ride, which we went on and it gave us both a chance to rest.

Easter

We went to Bob and Blanche's house in Palm Springs for Easter. Bob is Dee's son, who is my best friend and I have been spending most all holidys for years with her family. They have all become a part of me, as I have bo family, haven't for many years.We had prime rib, ham and turkey. Everyone brought something to go with the meat, I brought deviled eggs. It was yum!


We all felt the earthquake and the water in the pool was a salt water wave lol. Jim is so funny, he jumped from his chair and came running over to me telling me we were having an earthquake and to do something, but I had lemon meringue pie and so did Blanche whom I was sitting with and we weren't going anywhere. It wasn't bad where we were anyway.

So, all in all it was a nice day!

Arm Update

I went to the doctor yesterday and saw 3 of them.  2 said I should get a new shoulder.  My primary orthopedic surgeon suggested physical therapy and wait a while and see if that works.  So, I decided on the physical therapy route.  He said if that doesn't work then to go get a new shoulder.  I saw the CT Scan and I didn't really understand it until today.  The Physical Therapist used a book and a skeleton replica to explain it to me and I guess I really did do a number on it.  Last time I pick up a 73lb dog.  My bad!

I went to Physical Therapy today and he did a few no hurt movements with me to get the blood circulating there again.  I have to go for 6 weeks, 3x a week.   I return to work on April 30th.

Lesson 2

Lesson 2 for the beginner class at Petsmart.  This week the lesson was to practice walking the dog on a loose lead through out the store. Buddy was notorius and the instructor took over from Jim to help him out and finally Buddy got the idea. I didn't get too many pics this week. And she did say no leaning like he's doing here, so Jim has his practice cut out for him thid week.

Palm Sunday

Happy Palm Sunday to all.

We went to Whitewater yesterday, March 24 and so enjoyed the ride. I was exhausted afterwards and slept from 3:10PM until 8:30PM and then I went to bed at 11:15PM. So the ride there really was tiring for me, even though pleasurable. Someone had dumped 2 Pit bull females along the road there. Jim gave them a can of dog food that he had in the car and then we went on our way, because we could not have done any more for them.  When we got there a busload of kids were there enthralled with the trout ponds and they were very busy feeding them fish food, which they bought there.  We stayed about an hour and a half and on the way back Jim saw a herd of Mountain Sheep on a hillside right outside the conservatory.  We lingered for about a half hour.  Jim took lots of pics and I viewed them from the car with binoculars.  It was neat to see them in a wild state.  They were about 500 ft away, so not very close.  If any of his came out good, I'll post them

My Arm

1. I fell and broke my right arm on Feb 27th.  I posted a picture of what it looked like from the back a few days after I did it.  Jim took me to the emergency room the day it happened.  They took some x-rays and told me to make an appt with an orthopedic surgeon.  They gave me a number to call and lo and behold it was the surgeon that put a new knee in for me in June, 2009.  So, he made an appt for me to get a CT-Scan on Monday, March 15th.  I see him again on March 31st and as far as I am concerned, that's not soon enough.  I have been living on pain pills since this happened and I realize he has to wait until the swelling goes down, but boy it hurts.  He also said he wanted to see the CT-Scan to determine whether he should as he put it, glue the pieces to a metal plate in my shoulder.  Oooooo, how scarey is that!

Jim asked me to be his wife yesterday and I said YES!  We've lived together for five years and I have known him since 4/20/96.  I met him on the internet and  he's the best.  Now all I have to do, is figure out how to plan a simple wedding  :-))

Jim enrolled Buddy, whom he found and has no training, into a beginner class at our local Petsmart.  This was their first lesson.  Jim is teaching Buddy the command "Watch Me" and boy is he watching Jim.
